Why Choose Laura Blumenthal?

1) Election Winner

Elected as a councillor for 10 years. I overturned a Wokingham Borough Council seat that had been held by the Lib Dems for quarter of a century, knocking out the ward’s other Lib Dem councillor soon after for another Conservative candidate. I was re-elected twice, gaining more votes than all the other candidates who stood against me combined in 2023.

Selected as the parliamentary candidate for Brentford and Isleworth in February 2024. Electoral Calculus predicted that I was going to come fourth and in fewer than five months, I came a strong second in the election.

2) Campaign Infrastructure Builder

Experienced in fundraising, arranging political social events with high profile speakers, creating campaign strategy, working with the media, impactful social media communications, writing leaflets, organising street stalls, leading canvassing sessions and attracting new activists to both local and parliamentary campaigns. I have received compliments that I make my campaigns fun activists feels appreciated.

I understand the importance of councillors and what makes a successful local campaign so I want to ensure more Conservative councillors are elected, as well as winning a parliamentary seat.

3) Media Expert with Strong Business Experience

I have 10+ years experience working in media relations for household name companies such as The John Lewis Partnership, BT, NatWest and currently for a leading UK fintech. I’m confident managing crisis communications and experienced securing coverage in local press as well as in The Times, The Telegraph and the BBC.

My career has enabled me to understand vastly different industries, supply chain pressures, regulations, how AI is developing and how Britain needs to compete in the world. My PR and politics background means I am an excellent communicator, whether that’s on the doorstep, in hustings, social media, in the Chamber or with the media.

4) Defender of Conservative principles

As a Thatcher Fellow at the Centre for Policy Studies, I get to learn from some of the finest political and business minds on how to progress policies promoting freedom, free markets, free speech, enterprise, property rights and the rule of law.

I have a track-record of standing up against nonsense policies when I was a councillor; virtue-signalling rubbish that offered no value to residents, let alone value for money. Opposition councillors smeared me in the press and on social media but I’m resilient and and have the clarity of thought and debating skills to stand up for what’s in the best interest of residents and our country.
